1 day: Arrival
The tourists arrive to the airport of Pisa or Florence. Transfer to the 3/4 stars hotel. Dinner and stay overnight.
2 day (Volterra)
Breakfast in the hotel and departure for the visit of the medieval town of Volterra. Visit of the main architectures, that in the municipal age marked the urban identity of Volterra, as the S. Giusto church, the Renaissance’s fortress and the Roman theatre, moreover advice to visit the museum “Mario Guarnacci”.
Free lunch. In the afternoon the excursion continues with the visit of the archeological park “Enrico Fiumi”, green oasis delimited from the Etruscan wall and from a part of the fortress. The excursion go on with the visit of Prior’s square, centre of the town where we find also Prior’s palace, then San Giovanni’s square, where there is the cathedral, consecrated in 1120 and enlarged by Nicola Pisano in the XIII century and where we can admire works realized by Andrea della Robbia, and in the end the Baptistery, architecture dated back to 1283, instead the cupola was realized in the XVI century on Brunelleschi’s project. Return to the hotel for the dinner and stay overnight.
3 day: (Casole d’Elsa, Monteriggioni, Colle Val d’Elsa)
Breakfast in the hotel and departure to Casole d’Elsa, situated on a hill that name a wide landscape of Valdelsa. The visit will be dedicated especially to the centre of the small town, where is possible to admire “La Collegiata” where there is the gothic masterpiece of Marco Romano. Then the attention will be moved on the Mercy’s oratory and still towards on Collegiata museum. Free lunch and short stop in Monteriggioni, suburb that preserve the wall and her 14 towers, example of military medieval architecture. After the short visit of Monteriggioni, transfer to Colle Val D’Elsa, distributed in three level, Suburb, Castle and Plain. Visit of the town and of the main architectures and in the end visit of a crystal workshop. Return to the hotel, dinner and stay overnight.
4 day (Lucca)
Breakfast in the hotel and departure towards Lucca. Visit of the occidental part of the Historical centre, that includes S. Michele square, Mansi palace, San Frediano church and Amphitheatre square which is surrounded by shops. The rest of the morning will be dedicated to the oriental part of the historical centre, so Guinigi’s house that is the more characteristic part of Lucca, the cathedral and the squares that surround it and then some of the main churches. Free lunch. In the afternoon the excursion go on with the visit of the national museum of Guinigi villa, that is in a building constructed in 1418 where is possible to admire works of the prehistoric age until the XVIII century. In case of free time available, advice to visit the famous “Via Fillungo” , which ideal to buy some present and some typical products, and also Napoleon square. Return to the hotel, dinner and stay overnight.
5 day: (Castagneto Carducci, Baratti e necropoli etrusca, miniere della Val di Cornia)
Breakfast in the hotel and departure towards Castagneto Carducci, little suburb on the top of the hill, where there is the castle of Gherardesca’s Counts that with the San Lorenzo’s church constitute the centre of the town. After the stop in Castagneto Carducci, transfer to Baratti. The town was builded on the sea by etruscan near the gulf and is possibile admire the fortress. The particularity of the gulf is the archeological park that spread for 80 hectare and comprise a significative part of the ancient town with her quarries and industrial district. Transer to Val di Cornia and lunch in restaurant. After the lunch guided visit of the Temperino’s mine in order to discover the evolution of the search and extraction techniques and of the beauty and charm of underground world. Coming out the mine we can observ the area of Earle shaft, where the Miner’s museum tell to the visitor the history of mine. Return to the hotel, dinner and stay overnight.
6 day (Pisa)
Breakfast in the hotel and departure towards Pisa. In the morning visit of Miracle’s square, characterized by a unique style, artistic mastery and ideological richness.
In the most important square of Pisa is possible to admire some of the architectonic beauties that marked the sign of all the life of man, from the birth to the death (Baptistery, Cathedral, Bell Tower, Hospital and cemetery).
Free lunch. The afternoon is dedicated to the visit of the “centro mediceo”, starting from Knight’s square, then towards Carducci’s road and Santa Caterina square, as far as the right bank of the river Arno, centre of animation and amusement. The tour will continue with a walk in “Corso Italia”, famous pedestrian a commercial area. Return to the hotel, dinner and stay overnight.
7 day departure
Breakfast in the hotel, baggage settlements, transfer to the airport and departure.
